Cape Reinga is a very spiritual place for the Maori people as they believe that their souls depart from here for their ancestral home of Hawaiki.

It is also the place where the great oceans meet.

 

Magnificent & unspoiled.

67 kilometres of awesome surf beach offering many activities;

Sunbathing, Swimming, Surfing, Fishing, Sand Yachting, collecting shellfish and driving the length of the beach are just some of them.

 

Just a few minutes drive from Cape Reinga the spectacular Tapotupotu Bay is the perfect place for a lunch stop, a swim or walk. The adjoining camp ground is also very popular and has good facilities.

These huge Sand Dunes at Te Paki Stream are very popular with the young and some of the older ones as well. There are easier dunes and extreme slopes for the adventurous.
